However, the Windies in 2016 and England in 2022 chased it easily. Apart from this, the Indian team managed to win the semi-final match in 2007 and 2014.
In 2007, India won the toss and batted first against Australia, while in 2014 India lost the toss and Team India batted later. Now India has won the T20 World Cup 2024 also by batting first. India lost five matches in ICC tournaments from 2021 to 2023 and batted first in all of them. These include the match against Pakistan in the 2021 T20 World Cup, the 2021 World Test Championship final, the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final, the 2023 World Test Championship final and the 2023 ODI World Cup final.

England had won 100 percent of the matches i.e. all three matches while chasing three times in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup before 2024.
