We have been there where you are right now, running from one place to another like a caffeinated squirrel with zero time in hand to sit down for a good day’s meal. We understand the on-the-go snacking struggle. Whether it’s in the early morning, or the afternoon, you can always snack healthy even if your life is in fast-forward mode.

Between work, life, and adulting, stopping for a gourmet salad isn’t always what we have in the cards. But if you want to grab something healthy while you are on the run, read this post. We have shared our go-to tips for snacking healthy that don’t involve a boring sandwich.

1. The Portable Posse:

First thing first, we are on the snack squad, so we need to talk about it a bit. You need something that will be portable and won’t require its own seat on the bus. There are fruits for that—apples, oranges, bananas— and they also come with their own wrappers. These fruits are also natural energy bars. You can take the fruits individually, or you can cut them into pieces and make a fruit salad out of them.

2. Nutty Business:

Nuts are the real games in the snacking business. They are packed with protein and healthy fat, making them a powerhouse of goodness. The fat present in nuts helps you keep full and fabulous. There are a lot of kinds of nuts you’d like. We can think of almonds, peanuts, cashews, walnuts, as of now, later you can name it. If you haven’t tried them already, then don’t wait so long. If you have a sweet tooth, you should sprinkle some dark chocolate on them and thank us later.

3. DIY Snack-o-Matic:

Do you know what is the best perk of adulting? It’s getting to customize your own snacks. You can do some trail mix, and let your creativity shine on the canvas of snacking. You can be creative with some whole-grain cereal, dried fruits, pretzels, some chocolate chips, etc. You can mix up all the good things in the world and seal them in a bag and become a snack, Picasso.

4. Yogurt on the Move:

Do you remember those tiny yogurt cups you used to like in your childhood? Yeah, they are still available. The yogurt is like some party for your taste buds. Greek yogurts are what we like the best, and we think it’s the Beyoncé of the yogurt world. Greek yogurt has more proteins than the plot twists in your favorite mystery series. Also, Greek yogurt is creamy enough to replace that bag of chips you were thinking about all day. Freeze the yogurt a night before your snacking party that you can use as an ice pack.

5. Snack Attack Emergency Kit:

If you are planning a weekend gateway with your girlfriend, then don’t forget the snacks. Otherwise, it will be like getting stuck on a deserted island without a coconut tree. It happened to one of our colleagues the other day, that’s how we know. We should give you some life advice: keep a stash of emergency snacks in your bag all the time. You can think of granola bars, the ones with minimal added sugars. You can think of rice cakes or some unsweetened applesauce.

6. Wrap It Up, Baby:

Wraps are the sandwich’s cooler and more sophisticated neighbors. Do you know why we recommend wraps o all the healthy eaters? It’s mainly because they are low-maintenance. They go with almost all kinds of veggies, and meats—turkey, chicken, pork, beef, etc. And they also don’t leave a mess in your backpack (most of the time, anyway.) You can add whatever you want in your wrap and then roll it up, and pack it into your bag. A wrap will attract some envy from your unhealthy snack alternatives.

7. Sip Smart, Snack Strong:

Okay so maybe we are talking about snacks, but let’s not forget about the unsung hero, H20. Staying hydrated is more important than even eating snacks, and it’s a fact. You can stay long and well with only water and no food in your stomach but the opposite is not true. It is also true that sometimes when you think you are hungry, you are just thirsty. So keep a water bottle handy all the time and sip your way to a snack-time.

Life is grand and busy, and snacking might seem like a minor problem. But it is not. In fact, those small choices that you make every day add up to a healthy and balanced lifestyle. So even though you are quite busy, let’s not forget to munch. It is indeed a conscious choice to fuel your body. Until next time, stay snacktastic!
