Festivities Across the Country Mark the Birth of Lord Krishna
The country is alive with the vibrant and joyous celebrations of Krishna Janmashtami 2024, a festival that marks the birth of Lord Krishna, one of Hinduism’s most revered deities. One of the most awaited events of the day is the Dahi Handi competition, a traditional game in which groups of young men form human pyramids to break a pot filled with curd that is suspended high above the ground. Symbolizing the playful spirit of Lord Krishna, the event draws huge crowds and many teams participate in this energetic display of teamwork and skill.
Throughout the day, cultural performances such as Raasleela depicting scenes from Krishna’s life are performed in different parts of the country, further adding to the festive spirit.
